Envisioning the silver lining for the year 2020... a dream comes true...
A bookshop has opened in Duncans Mills, a little town about 10 minutes from the Sonoma Coast in a darling shopping and visitor village where it seems time has been forgotten in the most magical of ways.
Foundational intentions for this passion project include being a part of community, serving that community in a purposeful way and offering the gifts of education and teaching and writing that have been passed on through teachers and guides and family and friends. It’s a joy and delight to be a part of the process and serve in this way.
The book shop carries vintage first editions and used books as well as many newly published versions of literary classics. My lit major heart soars to the tales of Jane Austen, Mark Twain, Jules Vern, Herman Melville, T.S. Eliot, John Steinbeck, Henry James, Washington Irving and many, many others.
The shop also offers journals and pens and stationery and very special gift items all carefully curated by me with so much love.
Even amongst the current pandemic restrictions, this little retail shop can stay open with limited capacity. It’s only 275 square feet, so only 1 or 2 people can be in there at one time. There is a covered outside porch where items are also easily seen and the point of sale station is a moveable iPad with a Bluetooth card reader so lots of six foot space for safety.
"There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age." Sophia Loren
